What we are preparing

Costume Crush is preparing to participate in affiliate programmes operated by costume and general retailers. Once affiliate links are active, Costume Crush may earn a commission when a shopper follows a qualifying link and makes a purchase, at no additional cost to the shopper. The price you pay at the retailer is the same either way.

How it will be disclosed

Any active affiliate relationship will be clearly disclosed. Specifically, when affiliate links go live:

• This page will be rewritten to state plainly which programmes we participate in.
• Affiliate links will be labelled where they appear, not only in the footer.
• Outbound affiliate links will carry the standard sponsored link attribute. Ordinary, non-commissioned retailer links will not be marked as sponsored, because they are not.

Commission does not determine ranking

This is the part we care about most. Affiliate commission does not determine recommendation ranking.

It is not a policy we hope to remember — it is built into the product. The recommendation engine is handed a defined list of costume attributes (vibe, style, coverage, size, price, whether it needs a wig, and so on) and commercial fields are deliberately excluded from that list. A commission rate is not among the inputs the ranking can read. A costume that pays us nothing and a costume that pays us well are ordered by how well they match what you asked for.

What we will not do

• We will not claim a partnership, endorsement or approval we do not have.
• We will not present a retailer's product as ours, or imply a retailer has reviewed or endorsed Costume Crush.
• We will not hide a commercial link inside something that looks editorial.
• We will not invent prices, stock levels or delivery dates to make a listing look more attractive.
